How to crop a PDF

  1. Open the editor and choose your PDF.
  2. Select the Crop tool and drag a rectangle over the area to keep.
  3. Fine-tune the edges and corners with the handles.
  4. Apply to this page, or to all pages.
  5. Click Export to save the cropped PDF.

Adjustable, not one-shot

Draw a rough selection first, then drag its edges and corners until the framing is right. The live readout shows the exact dimensions in points as you adjust, and you can drag the whole rectangle to reposition it before committing.

One page or every page

Scans usually share the same unwanted border, so applying one crop to all pages fixes the whole document in a single step. Cropping is also reversible: Remove crop restores the full page whenever you change your mind.

Great for scans, screenshots and slides

Common jobs include cutting the black edge off a flatbed scan, removing wide margins so a document reads better on a phone, trimming a header or footer, and turning a slide deck exported to PDF into tight, borderless pages.

Nothing is destroyed and nothing is uploaded

The crop is applied as a proper page boundary in the exported PDF, and your original file on disk is untouched. As with every tool here, the document is processed in your browser only.

Why "no upload" matters when you crop a PDF

People usually reach for this tool while trimming scans of paperwork, statements or certificates. Nearly every free PDF website handles that by uploading your file to a server, processing it there and deleting it at some later point you cannot verify — which means the document you are reframing has been copied onto infrastructure belonging to a company you know nothing about, together with your IP address and the file name.

Trump PDF takes the upload out of the equation. The whole editor is a single page of code that runs in your browser, and every operation — editing text, compressing, merging, OCR, export — happens on your own processor. You do not have to take our word for it: open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use the editor. You will see requests that download the application, and no request that sends your document anywhere.

Frequently asked questions

Can I crop every page at once?

Yes. After drawing the rectangle, choose the option to apply it to all pages.

Can I undo a crop?

Yes. Use Remove crop on a page, or press Ctrl+Z to undo the action.

Does cropping reduce file size?

Slightly at most, since the content is still there but bounded. Use the compress tool if size is your goal.

Is my file uploaded to crop it?

No. Cropping happens entirely in your browser.
